Kaltenbach
The beautiful and centrally located Kaltenbach has approximately 1,300 inhabitants and lies directly in the valley floor of the ‘most active valley in the world’. The centre of Kaltenbach invites you to linger and relax. There you will find a dozen restaurants and bars, five ski rental shops and several sports shops during your holiday in the Zillertal. Kaltenbach is the ideal starting point for exploring the Zillertal. If you prefer a car-free holiday, you can visit the various villages throughout the Zillertal valley with the Zillertalbahn railway. The Zillertalbahn railway stop is located directly in Kaltenbach.

A highlight in Ried im Zillertal is the Way of the Cross, one of the many themed trails in our region. Its 14 stations lead from the Riedbach Bridge (forest playground) to the Riedberg Chapel. The stations were carved by local artist Hermann Wildauer and then cast in bronze. The themed trail invites you to take a stroll and linger in summer and winter alike.

Strass im Zillertal is the first village in the First Holiday Region of Fügen-Kaltenbach at the entrance to the Zillertal Valley. It welcomes you with a population of 830 at an altitude of 520 metres above sea level.
With its unbeatable location, the holiday village of Strass is centrally located between Innsbruck, Kufstein and the picturesque Achensee. Ideally situated for excursions in and around the Zillertal, Strass also offers excellent public transport connections. This means you can enjoy a car-free holiday and use the Zillertalbahn railway to explore the valley as far as Mayrhofen by steam train.
