After his return to his parent’s business, he converted the former „Tiroler Stube“ of the Hotel Lamark into the restaurant Alexander.
Since then, the „Alexander“ has developed from being a culinary insider tip to becoming a fixed star among top Austrian restaurants.
In the meantime, 3 toques and 17 points have been awarded to the restaurant of the Hotel Lamark by Gault Millau and in 2005, a further success marked the peak of the career of this exceptional cooking talent: Alexander Fankhauser was nominated „Austria’s Cook of the Year“.
